Beginning with the August 2022 monthly meeting, we will gather at the Bridgewater Baptist Church in Dayton VA. The club secretary will email all members details and directions. Please make note of this information regarding our new location - we anticipate this will be our “standard” location going forward.

Our inclement weather policy is as follows: if Rockingham County Public Schools are closed the day of a scheduled meeting, that meeting is cancelled.

In the SVGMS, we have local experts and educators who know rocks, have rocks, and make art out of rocks and are delighted to share this with you.
Each month, we gather for an evening of discussion of all things rock-related, with a program presented by our own or other notable experts for our mutual education and interest in the mineralogy of Virginia and the places we travel.
We would enjoy an opportunity to inspire your curiosity and enhance your knowledge about all things relating to the rocks and minerals around us. We look forward to welcoming you to our club and enjoying your company while we all seek the next interesting thing to be learned as we explore the stories inside rocks.
